Artnet 2 Twinkly 3.11 released.

Writer's picture: John LordJohn Lord

This version has both enhancements for efficiency, and bug fixes. There are also a few "nice-to-have" features making it easier to use when you aren't logged in.

Enhancements:

  • Rewrite of the oauth repair code so it no longer completely logs out and in to repair a device. This speeds up the fixing of a device if it loses oauth.

  • When logged out, I now generate a human-readable group name for groups.

  • When logged out, I now allow you to preview pro and gen 1 incoming data in a grid form so you can verify it's receiving something.

  • Improved how devices are populated into the tree view when logged out, completely eliminating the possibility of groups being split and speeding it up.

  • If you aren't logged in and attempt to upload edits to a layout, you will get a dialog reminding you that you are not logged in.

  • The frame limiter checkbox has been reversed so it now enables the frame limiter when checked. It was confusing users. For info on when to enable it, see the FAQ.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed the frame limiter so on and off when it's supposed to be instead of reversed (regression in 10.2.1.1). See below for a note on when to use it.

  • I found and fixed two rare issues in the code that keeps you connected to strings. The first would lose the ability to communicate with a device entirely if it tries to re-oauth while something else is accessing the device array. The second is that if you turn on test mode or enter the editor before it's done discovering some devices, retries never happen while those modes are on.

  • Fixed an introduced error that was hiding the start channel for some substrings. Probably a regression from 3.9.

  • Fixed a bug introduced ages ago that prevented streaming to a Gen 1 device while you are logged into Twinkly's servers.
